McCain: can’t go at Obamacare “with a meat ax”
Responding to calls for the resignation of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Senator John McCain said “let’s have Congressional hearings” over Obamacare’s failure to launch.
He called the Affordable Care Act a “fiasco.” Sebelius will not attend Congressional hearings scheduled to begin Thursday, but McCain said “let’s find out who is responsible.”
“This is just the beginning of the problems associated with a massive restructuring of one-fifth of our economy,” he said.
The White House announced that 475,000 have registered under the ACA, and McCain told CNN’s Gloria Borger on State of the Union that he was “glad they finally came through with some information.”
“It’s ridiculous and everybody knows that,” he said. But Republicans need to “rifle shot” Obamacare and stop going at it with a “meat ax,” said the Arizona Senator.
