Sunday on State of the Union

After a week of unrest and outrage in Ferguson, Missouri we talk to Governor Jay Nixon about what went wrong, and how he plans to ease tensions going forward.

The pressure is on local police to explain their tactics – both in the shooting of Michael Brown and in the response that followed. Rep. William Lacy Clay represents Ferguson, and pushed the White House and Justice Department to conduct a federal investigation. He’ll join former NYPD Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik to discuss law enforcement and the traditionally tense relationship with the African American community.

And does it feel like we’ve been here before? The answer is yes. Race relations are always simmering on the surface of our society, so we’ll turn to actor and activist Jesse Williams, CNN Contributor LZ Granderson, and journalist and Political Strategist Tara Wall for context.

Then, Texas Governor Rick Perry is facing indictment, a look at what it means for his 2016 ambitions.
