The more things change, the more they stay the same? On Friday, The William J. Clinton Presidential Library released more than 3,500 previously secret documents offering an insider’s look into the internal politics of the Clinton years. With the former First Lady and Secretary of State now the favorite to nab the Democratic nomination for 2016, the rush to access the documents temporarily crashed the Library’s website due to overwhelming demand.

Many observers call it the most rapidly changing social issue of our time. State legislatures and American voters have made widespread modifications over the past years regarding same-sex marriage rights and freedoms. Last month, Virginia’s ban on same-sex marriage was deemed unconstitutional by a federal judge. This comes alongside a series of recent federal court rulings that are overturning state’s bans against same-sex marriage.

This week Vice President Joe Biden announced he’s running, but not for the 2016 presidential nomination. Biden and President Obama jogged through the White House in a comical YouTube video, as part of Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign. Biden says “Mr. President, are you ready to move,” to which the duo shows off how they stay fit.

The escalating tensions in Ukraine are developing every moment. The crisis began in November of last year when President Viktor Yanukovych rejected a trade deal with the European Union. This dismissal symbolized a closer tie between Ukraine and Russia. The arrangement was popular among many Western Ukrainian citizens who were expecting a stronger economic connection with the European Union. Ukraine is a country that is bordered by Russia and Central Europe, and has been characterized as a country divided. Most citizens in Eastern Ukraine, specifically in the southern region of Crimea, which functions with regional autonomy, speak Russian and embrace pro-Russian policies. Ukrainian speakers live in the West and lean toward the EU.
