Rebels Kill Top Syrian Officials: Four top Syrian officials were killed during a meeting of ministers and security officials in Damascus on Wednesday. Among the four were Syria’s Defense Minister Dawood Rajiha and Deputy Defense Minister Assef Shawkat, President Bashar al-Assad’s brother-in-law. The explosion, which happened at a national security building, was carried out by the rebel Free Syrian Army. According to top Free Syrian Army official Colonel Malek al-Kurdi, the bombs were detonated from outside of the building.
