This Sunday on State of the Union...

Will Republicans embrace any part of President Obama’s jobs plan? We’ll ask Tea Party favorite, Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina. Plus, we’ll get a sneak preview of his presidential Labor Day forum with appearances by Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann, Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich and Herman Cain.

And Jim Hoffa, president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, will join us. He said last week that President Obama needs to “fight harder” for American workers.

Then we turn to the tenth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. We live in different times, but are we safer? We’ll speak with Sen. Joe Lieberman, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, and Rep. Mike Rogers, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. They’re also in a position to weigh in on the ouster of Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi and the increasing pressure on Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad to leave power.

And finally, we’ll talk politics ahead of a big week for both the president and the Republicans seeking to replace him. Joining us: Time Magazine’s assistant managing editor Michael Duffy and New York Times White House correspondent Peter Baker.
