1.Fort Hood shooting.  Military investigators are trying to figure out why a soldier went on a shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas.  34-year-old Army specialist Ivan Lopez killed 3 people and wounded 16 others before turning the gun on himself.  Wednesday's mass shooting was the second at the military base in just under five years.  Lopez was served in Iraq for four months but was not in combat.  He was undergoing treatment for mental health issues but had not been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Lopez recently purchased a .45-caliber handgun used in the shooting.  Army Secretary John McHugh told the Senate Armed Services Committee that while background checks showed Lopez had "no involvement with extremist organizations of any kind," no motive is being ruled out.  "We are going to keep an open mind and an open investigation and we will go where the facts lead us and possible extremist involvement is being still being looked at very, very carefully," McHugh said.
